Their day out!

For long they have been looking at each other,

Exchanging glances over the corridor,

Sometimes at the table when the classes are on.

She is new to the place and

He too is new to the College.

He was Rahul. She was Pooja.

So as days passed and conversations grew;

They got to know each other.

A few weeks later, she said ‘why dont we go out?’

He replied, ‘why not? and they decided on a place.

The first time he was going out with her.

He thought long and short,

On how he would present himself.

She too was thinking so much,

She wanted to be pretty like a fairy,

For it was her first date in her life.

He too knew that and decided

That has to be a cherishing moment.

She wondered how would he present himself

‘Will he be with the stubble or clean shaven?

What would he be wearing?

‘Am I thinking too much?’ she asked herself!

He would look cute and nice clean shaven.

Well lets see she told herself.

The day did arrive, they turned out in their best.

As she walked toward him,

He felt a gush of warmth hitherto unknown.

He reached out with a beautiful rose.

She took it to smelt it softness.

And hugged him with love unbound.

She could feel his cheek, smooth and chiseled,

She gave a loving kiss on his cheeks.

He was on the clouds literally,

Yes for once ‘His clean shaven look

Had bowled her over.’

He would not forget this moment;

Nor did she as he kissed her cheek.

All through their life.

Now 25 years, later they are walking

The same road and he still is sporting

That clean look – without a stubble.

The Tanishq ad that set the industry talking about it…

So even before the ad made its presence in the twitter, I came across this beautiful ad and it was half way through the first time I watched it. The next time it aired, I was like ok the Indian woman has arrived finally and how.

There is a personal reason attached to it, nevertheless the take was a poignant one if you ask me. The cute little one, the way she goes to see her mom being decked up and arriving for the ceremony.

Quite often these kids ask: why was I not invited to your wedding, where was I? I am not in the photograph? How dare you etc? So it was a cute one when she insists that she also wants to go ’round and round’ pretty body language and verbal that.

The best part is yet to come. The would be husband seeing her forlorn, calls out and carries her in his arms and completes the traditional ritual.

The last scene closes in on when the daughter asks if she can call him Daddy.

This would have gone off, but there are somethings which made it spectacular as they say. One of the argument was the bride was dusky, cmon guys half the population in Tamilnadu and Kerala are dusky, so all those guys out there talking wah dusky, do they think they dont get married at all?

If you wana know what being dusky  means, ask Vivek he will explain in his Sivaji style. Jokes apart, why are we even celebrating this? Is n’t acknowledging that we were discriminating all these days.

Its the same industry which launched Genelia in an ad where she becomes, fairer and gets a job! Check with Director Cheran with his movie – Autograph!

Anyways on another level we should give it to the brand to make the second marriage a celebration like no other. Its for both the bride and the groom. As always the groom doesn’t gets the credit.

Here go watch the ad now:

And Krishna was born this way!

It was a raining heavily and Vasudev had to cross the Yamuna. Having walked free since the birth of a son to Devaki a few minutes ago, with all the prison wards falling asleep and the doors unlocking magically he was at a loss wondering how he would cross the river which was flooding already with rains lashing the earth.

He perhaps had a  fair idea who he was carrying in the arms across the chest, and as his thoughts wandered the river rose and then all of a sudden caved in to show him waters flowing knee deep so he could cross over. Was it his dreams or was it true, as he stepped forward he felt it was all land and his steps were faster than ever. He knew he did not have time in his hand for he should reach the prison before the sun rise and ofcourse no one should know.

The river crossed and still holding the new born close to his bosom, he felt very sad for his wife Devaki, its not the first time she has to feel for her new born, every time in the last seven years she has been the victim of the tyranny of her brother Kamsa, who usurped his father’s rightful throne and threw them into prison on a day of festivities when Vasudev and Devaki had just got married.

As his mind raced with the thoughts of those wonderful moments he was fraught with fear of the future on what would become to the kid and it was telling on his steps as he reached the house of Nanda.

Nanda was waiting for him as if they had previously decided and his wife had also delivered a baby girl and with emotions taking the better of the two men, they exchanged the babies and Vasudev kissed his son farewell with thoughts if he will ever see him again.

Nanda was also overcome with emotion and saw the face of the cute little girl his wife Yashodha had delivered a few hours ago and slept off, he went inside and placed the boy next to her and saw them both with gleaming eyes.

Vasudev had very less time for pleasantries he wished he could not thank Nanda enough for this gesture for all he knew boy or girl, Kamsa was going to be the death knell for all the kids they ever brought to the earth. He saw the cute little face a very smiling one and felt the shiver on thinking how Kamsa was going to react. Recovering himself, he set back on the way he came, reaching the banks of Yamuna, he looked up and as an answer to his prayer Yamuna split into two and he walked across the river…it was still raining as he entered the prison, and the guards were still sleeping soundly as if they had never slept the whole life.

He entered his prison walls and then the locks got back in place and then as he placed the kid near his wife, she woke up and then the child started crying.

The good man Jesus and the scoundrel Christ – a book review

Philip Pullman

The book in review has a wonderful title to say the least, must be a provoking one in fact – The Goodman Jesus and the Scoundrel Christ by Philip Pullman.

And when you turn the book you get to read this also: This is a story. Well I shall buy it, but then the author makes no bones of what he is upto.

As I get introduced the new story that is part inspired by the real version of the Jesus which we have been accustomed to, this one takes on the alternative narration that could have been a reality and its only a reflection of how it could have been, especially in the sense how we do it today.

So we get introduced to the Abraham the father of Jesus Christ as we all know. He is a carpenter and is married to Mary who remains a virgin but due to the intervention of the angels, she gets pregnant. (This is a plugin from Hindu tales – esp Kunti’s five children are born from Indian Angels aka – Indra, Vayu, Agni, et al.)

When she delivers, they beget twins. Happy parents and happy neighbors everyone is filled with joy and then the parents name them no guesses – Jesus & Christ.

Jesus was the normal boy next door, he even is a good boy by all the counts, there are instances where he makes it up for Christ’s and the times fly.

Jesus becomes a preacher and is becoming a famous man by his own rights, in fact questioning a lot of things and the miracles happening a quite a bit. All the while Jesus says these things cant be led far to make for his praise or make him famous, but the disciples make it tough for him that way.

Then the story of how he is led to be crucified and the story could have ended there.

But of course for the entire world to have a story of someone who can rise from the dead and crucified, the body goes missing actually. No guesses how that is contrived or made it look happen when his twin brother comes to play the part.

Very well written, and fast paced, you know how its going to be in the last few pages but the narrative is pretty interesting how the story is built for the future and that what matters today.

Thanks Dear Pullman. Had a nice read and know what you should have also made some efforts on some time of his life when he was perhaps in India.

Kochadaiyaan! Teaser

So when the media reported Kochadaiyaan was getting ready with a teaser, I know you dont have to do what you did for “Why this kolaveri di,” you are sure of views, very well demonstrated by the views which it garnered on Youtube! But the issue here is a bit of disappointment for the sheer expectations of a Rajini fan, they are like some people whose thirst is insatiable and it just takes them to see that face on the big silver screen for the day and even food or water wouldn’t matter. With this kind of fan following that the Superstar has, it must have been a gamble to come out with a teaser not trailer in the effect.

Also to note that it has big names like A R Rahman and Resul makes it a bonanza. The teaser though having crossed a million in 24 hours is on its way to cross the 2 million mark, there has been wide spread disappointment at the length and the quality of the video too.

And may be we should have had it on big screen since the technology part of the business is not the layman’s way of looking at it. But in all this the Rajni fan is a devoted one otherwise how would you get as big number of views as you have here.

Take a look!

In other news if you want to know what people think just scroll down to the comments section of the video 😉

Signing off

The childhood

When I see him through the window,

I envy him for his lucky go life,

For he is carefree and cool every moment

While  I face things with strife.

They say I am childish when I bite nails,

But in his attempt to make us laugh never fails.

Life I wish was like his,

Which we are all now giving a miss

To enjoy as he is today,

And make the most of it everyday.

When at times I see him,

He smiles at me an innocent one,

To behold in itself is a scene to see.

And when he cries, we do laugh a little,

But he does make you go brittle.

Ultra Mintz – Sugar free power mints from ITC

There was a beautiful gift pack from Blogadda! They know enough ways to actually surprise you!

Opening the box, it was so beautifully packed and a cute tin pack emerged. I loved the package, it meant some thing cool, that I would soon find out. Not just cool, extraordinarily cool!

This latest offering from ITC is bound to make you lose to Ultra Mintz and I am sure you will look to actually show off the piece de art in your hand that cute box which has the mints – clearly stated premium and powerful sugar free mints.

DSC_0432

It was mouth watering to see the mints drop out of the cute little container and popping it was the first sensation you would be taken to such a grand level of mild and soothing mint. It was powerfully mixed and then it makes all the difference. Just goes all the way starting those sensations of soothing your throat and also sure to tickle your sense of smell. You get a free and nice breath of life, literally.

DSC_0437The taste lingers on while the mint slowly melts into your mouth and you dont want to lose it fast. Leaves you with a clean and refreshing feeling after every popping of a mint.

ITC should be commended for packing a punch of such magnitude that you would want more. It was extra strong and tastes as much as being sugar free you can go popping as you wish.

DSC_0434

The best part is this, you get to show off this nice little tin package and take it out in a style and then pop it in.

And when you know the ingredients that went into the making of these little powerful mints,  you will be really be impressed; well the finest quality of menthol and the best peppermint are from France.

The pack has 60 mints and is priced competitively at INR. 50 and I am sure this pricing will be an easy one for the kind of product which is on offer.

DSC_0436

The overall feel is that the pack will attract the young and the old alike especially those who will like the premiumness of the product and there is also a style quotient attached to it a kind of branding if you want to call it that.

So here’s my verdict on this product, very premium packaging black always has that tag attached to it, not to forget the product here is the winner and it’s awesome to say the least! ITC has a winner in the Ultra Mintz and going by the social media reactions I am sure this will rock the market that its targetted to.

You will surely find this in the car or in the table of those cool guys that you associate with and the coolness will for sure spread like wild fire.

Thanks BlogAdda for the opportunity to taste and review, tickling our senses all the way. Thanks ITC for a nice product and a nice experience if I should put it that way, and well rest assured that I shall be a good customer popping in the Ultra Mintz whenever I want to .

Freedom Unleashed!

It’s a wild, wild world

A heavy traffic plying so fast

Destination bound, buses and cars.

Broken are the rules for the sake of it;

Discorded thoughts on business and profit.

A ruthless journey travelled everyday

With a faked smile to greet all we meet.

The paper always carry violent, vulgar words

Of Nations at war, of refugees, of bomblasts and of riots.

Man at arms and guns have not retired.

Man and arms together on a race to destruction ahead.

Me at war with my own self

A discord cannot be so perfect – a war of love,

Of religions, of Gods, of false men.

Humans ruthlessly killed

Like trees mercilessly felled

An imbalance reigns and its chaos all around.

We just witness and witness it happen

Its a land so free, so green

Freedom undefined, rights abused,

Corruption in high places and decadence at a record high.

Yet, the sun rises, the river flows

The cloud showers and the wind blows.

In perfect harmony – its the freedom unleashed!

Broken Wheel – a #translation

abhimanyu

I am

the broken wheel of a chariot.

But, nay forsake me not!

Who knows and whence,

in this unfortunate chakravyuh warfare,

challenging the whole band of mighty warriors,

the ever confident, Abhimanyu will fight and fall.

Knowing fully well, they are unfair;

all just and great warriors,

at the lone unarmed warrior

are pointing their thuderbolts.

At that time, I,

the broken wheel of a chariot,

am in his hands.

I endure all the blows!

I am the broken wheel of the chariot.

But forsake me not!

As the history of the society winds

and gets broken all of a sudden by falsehood –

who knows,

Truth may have to take refuge of a broken wheel!
